DeveloperReviewed.com This web site will feature software reviews written by - and of interest to - software developers. The reviews will be in-depth, not short blurbs or paragraphs. Whenever possible, comparative reviews of similar products will be provided. Unlike software catalog web sites, no software will be sold from this web site, although software manufacturer contact information and web site links will be included. Programs are selected for review by me, the editor. Software publishers who would like to have their software reviewed should first send me an email to see if I am interested in reviewing the program. I am sorry, but I have already turned down a number of programs which may be excellent at what they do. However, I am only reviewing software that have a strong appeal to me personally, or that I think other developers might find interesting, useful, etcetera. If you email me and your product is one I would like to review on the web site, you will need to supply an "unrestricted" copy of the program. No timeouts, no nags, and so on. Whenever possible, I will provide downloadable demonstration programs of software I review. This will generally be simple applications I developed in the process of writing the review and using your product. If you do not feel comfortable supplying a licensed copy of the software, which may be retained by me or an assigned reviewer, no hard feelings. If you do supply a licensed copy of your software for review this does not in any way guarantee you a "good" review. Only that a review will be written. I expect to always have another review or two in process, so it is possible, but not likely, that a review will be completed within 30 days of the receipt of the program. Currently, reviews are taking between 4 and 8 weeks to complete (some sooner, some later). Again, if you are a software publisher and have software that you believe will be of wide interest to developers, please first send me an email describing the program. If I reply that I do not currently have an interest in reviewing your program, please do not take offense. I will be writing the vast majority of reviews myself and don't want to take on more programs than I can reasonable handle at this time. Remember, this site is not for "quickie" blurb type product summaries. There are many sites on the Internet already provided a sentence or two describing hundreds, maybe thousands of programs. Finally, a little about myself. In "real life" I am Senior Network Administrator at a manufacturing company in Savannah, Georgia. I have been with this same company for almost ten years. I have been working with computers, software and the people who use them for more than 15 years. I have also worked in County Government and the Public School systems. In each of the past several jobs I have developed business applications for use by myself or other employers. Several years ago, I began developing and marketing software over my first web site - http://www.dbandsons.com and have a very small business created for that purpose - Dennis Baggott and Sons. I have written and sold software for a variety of purposes for business, church staff, school administration and more. My other web sites are: http://www.lnsoftware.com (the LN stands for Late Nights which is when I do most of my software development) and http://www.affordablehelpdesksoftware.com As you can see, I enjoy application development and web site development as well. So why did I start this web site? I spend a lot of time looking at software tools for application development. I "lurk" in a number of newsgroups reading what people think about software. I wanted to share my thought about the software I have found useful and like (or dislike) with other developers. This web site will let me do that at length. Besides, I don't play golf, poker or have any other money/time consuming hobbies so my wife let's me write software and work on my web sites - when she doesn't have some other chores for me to do around the house.
